Educational Objective
The purpose of this presentation is to present the attendees with the fundamental mechanics and methodology of Cardiac  MRI studies.  Through image presentations I will demonstrate the correct anatomical views required for a clinical cardiac MRI study. Finally I will present some current works in progress in cardiac as well as other MRI studies.

Outline:

1.  Patient Safety Considerations

1. Heating, Burns, and their sources.
2. MRI “Conditional” implants

 2.  Basic MRI Physics

       a.   Motion compensation through cardiac gating and breath holding.

 3.  Cardiac MRI Plane Prescription.

        a.   Fundamental cardiac MRI views.

 4. Basic Image Acquisition Techniques

1. Fundamentals of K-Space filling- (A conceptual approach)

 5. Conclusion.

Continuing Education Credit
This program has been approved by the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) for 1.0 hours ARRT Category A continuing education credit.

Certificates of Credit are accepted by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

The mission of the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) is to recognize individuals qualified as specialists and to promote high standards of patient care and safety in the diagnostic medical imaging modality of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology including: interventional MRI, cardiovascular MRI, functional MRI, and MRI breast imaging.

ARMRIT is the first certifying organization to:
