Course Overview
This program will provide learners with an overview of TRUS/MRI fusion technique and application of TRUS/MRI fusion for prostate biopsy.

Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Describe the challenges of current prostate biopsy techniques
  • Explain how the fusion technique provides access to specific biopsy targets
  • Discuss advantages and any limitations of TRUS/MRI fusion biopsy, including elastic registration and increase in physician and patient confidence

How to Recieve Credit

  • View the entire one-hour session. The question-and-answer period at the end of the lecture is not required to receive credit.
  • At the conclusion of the lecture, close the WebEx Player window. You will be redirected to the ICPME website.
  • From the COURSE HOME page, click the buttons for POSTTEST and for EVALUATION.
  • A passing grade of at least 75% is required to receive credit.  You may take the test up to three times.
  • Upon receipt of a passing grade, you will be able to print a credit certificate from your icpme.us account.

François Cornud, MD
Diagnostic Radiologist

Paris, France

Dr. Cornud completed his medical studies, residency and fellowship at Xavier Bichat Medical University in Paris, France and since 1985 has been a consultant radiologist both there and at Henri Descartes Medical University, Paris.

Dr. Cornud is a clinical expert in the field of uroradiology and has authored 120 scientific publications – of which 23 focused on prostate imaging.  In addition, Dr. Cornud has contributed content to prostate specific sections of books including Clinical MRI: MRI of the Prostate Gland, F. Cornud and N. Papanicolaou, Springer publications.

He is a member of the Radiologic Society of North America and a fellow of the North American Society of Uroradiology and the European Society of Urogenital Radiology.
