2019 Chicago International Breast Course
Advancing the Art of Breast Imaging
 

This online activity consists of 10 Sessions recorded at the 2019 Chicago International Breast Course Annual Meeting held in Chicago November 1-3, 2019.

A comprehensive breast imaging course for breast imaging radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, radiologic technologists, and other physicians and health care providers dedicated to breast care.

Conference Overview
The 2019 Chicago International Breast Course (CIBC) offered training using cutting-edge technology with an advanced but practical approach. The three-day conference comprehensively covered breast imaging modalities, including digital breast tomosynthesis, handheld and automated whole breast US, fast-sequence MRI, and molecular breast imaging. Course topics included breast cancer screening and high-risk management controversies, quality and safety, patient engagement, clinical practice concerns, and the use of AI in breast image interpretation.

Conference Objectives
Upon completion of these activities, participants will have increased knowledge regarding:

  • Define screening controversies and address the current state of breast cancer screening
  • Describe multimodality approaches to breast cancer screening and early diagnosis
  • Review the current American College of Radiology’s breast imaging practice parameters
  • Gain confidence and competence in supplemental ultrasound screening using hand held and automated devices
  • Apply risk strategies to management, treatment, and prevention of breast cancer
  • Define principles of artificial intelligence (AI) and applications to breast imaging practices
  • Develop personalized and coordinated breast care to optimize patient outcomes
