Course Overview
In an era of high demand for breast screening exams, clinicians are continually looking for safe and effective breast cancer screening tools. This webinar will review the evidence-based literature supporting contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM), patient selection criteria, and techniques and protocols for performing CEM.

Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Evaluate the role of contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) as an adjunct to digital mammography
  • Discuss patient selection and clinical indications for performing CEM
  • Describe the clinical protocols for performing CEM

How to Receive Credit

  • To receive credit, each participant must attend the entire session and complete the postcourse evaluation within 7 days after the presentation.

  • Upon verification of your participation from the WebEx event report, you will receive an email from ICPME two weeks after the event with instructions to print your certificate of credit. You will not be able to print your certificate until that time.

Your certificate of credit will remain in your account at www.icpme.us as a permanent record of your participation.

Dr. Daniela Bernardi
Senior Radiologist and

Dr. Bernardi received her medical degree from and completed her residency and fellowship in diagnostic radiology at the University School of Medicine in Verona, Italy.

Since 2009, Dr. Bernardi has been working at the Department of Radiology of APSS, Trento, primarily working in breast imaging. In 2007, she became Director of the Mammography Screening Program of the Trento province.

Dr. Bernardi’s research has mainly focused on the clinical introduction of digital breast tomosynthesis. In 2011 and 2013, she conducted two large clinical trials (STORM and STORM2), comparing this new technology to digital mammography for breast cancer screening. Since 2014, Dr. Bernardi has also used dual-energy contrast-enhanced digital mammography (CEDM), focusing her research on the clinical aspects of this methodology. She is currently conducting a new trial on the comparison between CEDM and MRI.

The author of 35 scientific publications, Dr. Bernardi studies new equipment and technologies, protocols, and approaches in breast imaging and interventional procedures. She has lectured at well over 100 national and international scientific meetings and training courses. With 18 years’ expertise in mammography, she is an acknowledged expert on all aspects of screening and diagnosis of breast disease.
