Expiration Date: May 31, 2011

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Liver disease is common and encompasses a range of benign and malignant entities. Medical imaging with a variety of modalities is often critical for the diagnosis and management of hepatobiliary diseases. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has the capability to both detect and characterize many focal and diffuse diseases of the liver and bile ducts and is assuming a greater role in the diagnosis and management of liver disease.

Case Studies in Liver MRI
will highlight interesting cases where magnetic resonance imaging made a difference in patient diagnosis, treatment, and management.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be more confident to:
  • Recognize advantages of using Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI compared to other imaging modalities for assessment of liver metastases
  • Identify the appearance of liver metastases on Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MR imaging
  • Appreciate the complementarity of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and hepatobiliary phase of Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced imaging in the visualization of liver metastases

ACCREDITATION AND CREDIT
The International Center for Postgraduate Medical Education (ICPME) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

ICPME designates this educational activity for a maximum of 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in this activity.
