course overview

This series brings to learners the opportunity to view a variety of breast MRI cases as expert faculty share their experience and approach to breast MRI in their practice.

educational objectives

  • Develop a systematic strategy to interpret breast MR images and improve diagnostic accuracy
  • Use standardized terminology to assess and report breast MRI abnormalities in accordance with ACR BI-RADS® for MRI
  • Evaluate the role of morphology and kinetics when assessing a breast lesion
  • Apply standard methods and strategies for MRI-guided breast biopsy intervention

Gillian M. Newstead, MD

The University of Chicago

Director of Breast Imaging Services

Dr. Newstead received her medical degree from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and completed an internship at Genesee Hospital in Rochester, New York. She then completed a residency in radiology at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester and Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. She is board certified in Radiology by the American College of Radiology.

This program has been approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and the State of Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Radiation Control Technology Program for 1.0 hour of ARRT Category A+ continuing education credit.
