What does a truly effective radiology leader look like?

With the internal and external demands at all levels of the department, managing a radiology practice has become more challenging by the day. From the changing requirements of accrediting bodies to accommodating emerging technology, prioritizing management responsibilities while maintaining a positive attitude can be challenging.

Spend a day with two experts and your colleagues to address the issues and concerns that you deal with daily but don’t always receive the attention they deserve. You will learn how to be your best professional self and inspire others; how to effectively work with vendors; evaluate image storage and interoperability options; and develop and sustain a healthy fiscal, technological, and professional environment.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After completing this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Assess operations from exam ordering through reporting using workflow mapping and clinical decision support tools
  • Develop and maintain a healthy work environment through continuous team-building and coaching while enhancing your own leadership attributes
  • Manage assets successfully through effective negotiation with vendors using established policies and procedures, medium-range planning, and evaluation of the benefits and disadvantages of enterprise image management vs a departmental system
  • Employ analytics to extract relevant data for reporting and improvement of interoperability between modalities and PACS, including purchase of a vendor neutral archive and universal viewer
  • Build an optimal care environment through use of cutting-edge IT and informatics
