Course Overview
Contrast-enhanced imaging is essential for the diagnosis and management of a multitude of diseases. Significant advancements in the detection and differentiation of disease have been made in the last decade using new and evolving contrast-enhanced imaging applications and techniques.

Current Concepts in Contrast-enhanced CT will focus on currently approved agents, their properties, and indications for use; the use of both intravenous and oral agents in the adult and pediatric populations; the role of CT contrast in the interventional and cardiology suites; and the continued expansion of the role of oral CT agents.

Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

• List the current CT contrast agent properties and their indications for use
• Explain the use of intravenous (IV) contrast agents in interventional radiology and cardiology
• Describe how IV CT contrast agents can be safely administered in the pediatric population
• Discuss the role of oral CT contrast agents

Imaging of the liver, biliary, and pancreas has been the focus of Dr. Sahani’s work. He is currently involved in investigating tumor angiogenesis and response to novel cancer treatment methods with CT, MRI, and PET.

Dr. Sahani has delivered more than 200 lectures nationally and internationally and contributed over 250 articles and reviews to the medical literature, numerous book chapters and has authored two textbooks. His work has appeared in New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Clinical Gastrointestinal Radiology and Hepatology, Radiology, American Journal of Radiology, Annals of Surgery, Investigative Radiology, and European Journal of Radiology.

In addition to teaching students, residents, and fellows at Harvard Medical School, he has been a visiting professor at numerous universities in the US and abroad.

Dr. Sahani is a fellow member of several professional societies and currently serves on the Board of Directors for International Society for Computed Tomography, president elect of Society of Computed Body Tomography and Magnetic Resonance, and is chairman of the Gastrointestinal Radiology Subcommittee of the Scientific Program Committee. He was also selected to be a member of the 2015 International Visiting Professor Team of the Radiological Society of North America.
